Billy Joe Rocky Mundy Sr. 52, of Ethan, died at his residence Friday, May 30, 2008 after a long illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Billy Joe Mundy was born July 1, 1955 in Atlanta, GA. to Willie Lee and Bernice Lou (Holcomb) Mundy. He attended school in Riverdale, GA. He married Vicki L. Nelson on January 29, 1975 in Fayetteville, Ga. where they lived for a few months and moved to Ethan. He continued his education and graduated for Mitchell Vocational and Technical School with an associates degree in electrical. He worked for number of years for Ethan Coop Lumber when he started his own construction company as a contractor for Ethan Coop Lumber. In 2003 due to an injury he ended his carpentry career. In recent years he worked for Total Components Solutions of Rock Valley, Ia. until his illness. Billy Joe enjoyed his grandchildren, many hobbies and mowing lawns. Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Vicki of Canton, SD; daughters Lori and husband Randy Kelly of Mitchell, SD, Nikki and husband Jeff Gortmaker of Canton, SD, Roxy Peterson of Hudson, SD and Rusty Grim of Lennox, SD; son Billy Joe Bo Mundy of Canton, SD; 15 grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers. Preceded him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.
