Bill R. Zoss, age 72, of Letcher, SD died Wednesday October 13, 2021 doing what he loved, hauling cattle. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday October 15, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Butler Cemetery in rural Letcher, SD. Lunch will follow the funeral at the Letcher Community Center.

Bill R. Zoss, son of Charley and Marjorie (Radenslaben) Zoss, was born October 9, 1949 in Mitchell, SD. He grew up on a farm north of Letcher, SD and attended country school. Bill graduated from Forestburg High School. After his schooling, Bill served in the South Dakota National Guard for six years. At this time, he was also farming.

Bill was united in marriage with Betty Olson on April 5, 1969 in Forestburg, SD. The couple made their home on a farm north of Letcher, where Bill farmed until the early 1990's. The farm was then passed onto his sons who continued the operation. After farming Bill established his own trucking company, Zoss Trucking. He specialized in hauling cattle and continued trucking until his passing.

Other than his wife Betty, Bill's second love was horses. He raised and sold quarter horses through out the United States. He had a special place in his heart for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill always had room in his recliner next to him for his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, and going to all their various activities.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Betty Zoss, Letcher, SD; their children, Scott (Stacy) Zoss, Letcher, SD, Shelly (Barry) Selland, Forestburg, SD, Steve Zoss, Forestburg, SD, Charles (Christy) Zoss, Forestburg, SD; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer (Tracey) Zoss, Alexandria, SD, Mark Zoss, Stickney, SD; a sister, Donna (Dean) Peterson, Mitchell, SD; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Marjorie Zoss; and two brothers, Terry Zoss and George Zoss.
