everly Elaine Anderson was born April 27, 1930, to Malvin and Lillian (Port) Trapp at Milbank, SD. She attended Grant Center #2 grade school and graduated from Milbank High School in 1948. She attended Westmar College at LeMars, Iowa. She passed away January 20, 2019, in Mitchell, SD.
She married Elwood C. Anderson on September 4, 1949, at Milbank. They were in the nursery business, growing and selling trees with Elwood's parents near Twin Brooks, SD. They sold the nursery in 1961, and moved east of Webster where they built up a new farmstead. They were in the fur business, raised and sold vegetables and farmed. They sold the farm in 1975, and built up a new farmstead near Cogswell, ND, where they were in the fur business and farmed organically. She enjoyed canning tomatoes and good dill pickles. She was a great cook and famous for her pork roast and bread making.

lwood passed away October 2006. They were married 57 years. Beverly continued to live on the farm for 2 years. September 2008, she moved to Mitchell to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.
Beverly was active in quilting and circle at Trinity Lutheran Church of Mitchell. She enjoyed walking to Coborn's grocery store close by her apartment, playing scrabble, putting together puzzles, and always had chocolate chip cookies and coffee ready for anyone who stopped by.
Beverly is survived by her daughters Marilyn Smith of Mitchell; Carol (Anton) Scheer of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren Jay Smith, Mitchell; Janel (Michael) Hays, Cheyenne, WY; Kirstin (Andrew) Maltese, Irvine, CA; Kari Scheer and fiancé Matthew Stachowiak, Garden Grove, CA; and one great grandson Grayson Maltese.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, her parents, her son-in-law Harlan Smith in 2018, and three grandsons Jerome Smith and two in infancy.
