Betty Jean Sellner age 79, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday December 5, 2012 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Betty Jean Brunz, daughter of Arnold and Marcella Brunz, was born December 5, 1932 in Mankato, MN. She grew up on the family farm south of Good Thunder, MN. Betty graduated from Good Thunder High School in 1951. She was united in marriage with Joe Sellner on February 18, 1952 in Mankato, MN. The couple made their home on a farm near Searles, MN. Later they bought a farm near New Ulm, MN, where she worked at Hardies. They moved to Mitchell in 2003. Betty loved her dogs and horses. She enjoyed showing and riding. She was a member of AQHA and the Arabian Association. Betty was also a long time member of the New Ulm Saddle Club. She loved her Sunday trips to Al's Oasis in Oacoma, SD for lunch and visiting with friends. Betty was grateful to have made so many good friends over her 79 years of life and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and her parents.
