Betty Mae Lund, age 85, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday January 1, 2011 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Betty Mae Lund, daughter of Ryan and Elizabeth (Burfiend) Dittrick, was born September 5, 1925 in Stickney, SD. She grew up in Stickney and graduated from Stickney High School in 1943.

Betty moved to Texas and was united in marriage with Leonard Fischer on May 30, 1943 in Temple, TX. The couple farmed in Stickney and then moved to Montana in 1959 where they farmed. Leonard became ill and died in 1964. In 1976 Betty moved to Mitchell and was employed as a nurses aide at the Methodist Hospital. She was then united in marriage with George Lund on April 25, 1981 in Mitchell, SD. George retired in 1986 and they moved to Spencer, WI. George died in 1990 and Betty moved back to Mitchell.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Randy Fischer, Billings, MT; several grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; a son Doug; a stepson Gary; two brothers and three sisters.
