Betty M. Carlson, 77, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM followed by a rosary. Burial will be in Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Betty was born on July 21, 1928, at Dimock, SD to Joseph and Rose Weber and attended the Dimock School. On October 8, 1957, she married Kermit G. Carlson at Dimock. They farmed until 1961 when they moved to Lead, SD. They moved back to Mitchell in 1963. Betty worked at Brady Memorial Nursing Home, the Methodist Hospital and the American Legion. She retired in 1994. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Kevin Carlson and wife, Tina; four daughters: Debbie Carlson, Tammy and husband Terry Hanson, Lisa and husband, Jeff Jolliff and Kelly and husband, Daren Sterk, all of Mitchell; twelve grandchildren; two brothers: Bob Weber, (Arlis) Sioux Falls, Joe Weber (Paula), Parkston; five sisters: Johanna Weiss, Mitchell, Rose Mary (Kenny) Walz, Parkston, Charolette (Darvin) Weiger, Piedmont, SD, Joan (Al) Smith, Gustine, CA and Lois (Clarence) Thury, Parkston. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant son, Joseph, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a niece.
