Bernice Luella Kewley age 92, of Sioux Falls, SD (formerly of Hartford, SD) died April 4th, 2018 at Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday July 14th, 2018 at Greenhill Cemetery in Alexandria, SD.

Bernice was born January 5, 1926 in Emery, SD to Otto and Emma (Lang) Hanssen. Bernice attended country school in Hanson County.

On May 11th, 1946 she was united in marriage to Clarence (Ike) Kewley at Luverne, MN. The newlyweds resided in Alexandria, SD where they farmed for 29 years. In 1975 they moved to Custer, SD. In 1986 they moved back to Alexandria, SD and then made their home in rural Hartford, SD. Bernice spent her remaining years at Trail Ridge Senior Living in Sioux Falls, SD

Bernice was a devoted wife and mother, and woman of many trades, among those included a care giver at Methodist Hospital in Mitchell. Bernice's enjoyments were arts and crafts, gardening, traveling, dancing, playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Linda (John) Dubbelde, Glenda (Dustin) Peterson, Terry (Marilyn) Kewley, Bonnie (Jerry) Bauerle and Cindy Leach; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; two sisters Lulu Kenton and Geraldine Lynn; one brother Dennis Hanssen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ike, parents and great-granddaughter Madelynn.
