Barry L. VanLaecken, age 57 of Watertown, South Dakota, formerly of the Mitchell area, passed away Saturday, September 20 at his residence. A Graveside Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the West Lawn Cemetery, Letcher, South Dakota. Following the service lunch and fellowship will be held at the Letcher Community Center. Barry was born on December 10, 1950 to Alfred and Mary VanLaecken of Letcher SD. He was currently employed with the Salvation Army in Watertown. Barry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his close friend and companion, Peggy Pringle of Watertown; three daughters, Carrie of Casper, WY, Kami Jo of Sioux Falls, and Mary Rose of Minneapolis, MN; one son, Brandon of Parkston, SD; two brothers, Richard (Donna) VanLaecken of Brookings, and Michael (Kathy) VanLaecken of Peoria Heights, IL; one sister, Sheila (Robert) Deboer of Mitchell, SD; and six grandchildren. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Will Funeral Home in Mitchell.
