Barbara Ann Devaughan, age 78 of Mitchell, SD died Thursday, December 25, 2025 under hospice care at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Patton-Young Park in Mitchell.

Barbara Ann Devaughan, daughter of Mervin and Violet (Auch) Smith, was born September 26, 1947 in Chamberlain, SD. She grew up in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School.

Barbara began her career at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in the X-Ray department and retired after 30 years of service with the hospital.

She enjoyed collecting Elvis Presley items, gambling trips and especially love her cat, names Baby Girl.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son. Darren (Ronda) Devaughan, DeBary, FL.; a sister, Deb (Nick) Brink, Mitchell, SD; a brother, John (Penny) Smith, Gillette, WY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Judy Joachim; and a nephew, Eric Brink.
