Audrey C. Scott, age 81, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 of natural causes at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Audrey was born on February 20, 1926, to Arthur C. and Florence (Morrison) Scott at Fedora, SD. He graduated from Fedora High School in 1944. He married Orvilla Madsen on March 20, 1947, at Artesian. They farmed in the area until 1968 and then worked at the Farmers Elevator at Forestburg until 1973. They moved to Mitchell in 1979 and Audrey worked as the Davison County Weed Supervisor until his retirement in 2002. His wife, Orvilla, died in 1988. Audrey married Maggie Hohn Hanten on June 29, 1991 in Mitchell. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed auctioneering and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Maggie, of Mitchell, two children: Audrey Janelle Schrank and husband, Garland, of Mitchell and Dixie Lee Schmit and husband, Greg, of Sioux Falls; three step-daughters, three step-sons, three sisters: Lavina Nadeau, Portland, Oregon, Eleanor Staden, Edgemont, SD and Nadine Buttemier, Howard, SD; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and twenty-three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents and one brother, Morris.
