Audrey Janelle Schrank, daughter of Audrey and Orvilla (Madsen) Scott, was born August 22, 1948 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up in rural Fedora, SD and attended country school there. Audrey graduated from Fedora High School in 1966. After her schooling, she babysat for area families. Audrey was united in marriage with Garland Schrank on April 30, 1967 in Fedora, SD. The couple made their home in Artesian, SD where Audrey was employed as a nurse's aide at Methodist Hospital. They made their home in Canova, Howard, Fedora, Mitchell and finally Fulton, SD. While in Fulton, Audrey was employed with the Hanson Public School Food Service. They later returned to Mitchell where she was employed with the Mitchell Public School Food Service. Audrey worked at L.B. Williams Elementary, Mitchell Middle School and finally at Longfellow Elementary. She recently retired in 2014. She was a member of New Home Lutheran Church and was a former 4-H member and leader. Audrey enjoyed cooking, reading and collecting recipe books, gardening, playing cards, garage sales, visiting with friends and family and her dogs. She loved attending her grandkids activities. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 47 years, Garland Schrank, Mitchell, SD; four children, Stacy (Melody) Schrank, Norman, OK, Wade Schrank and his special friend, Tonya, Salem, SD, Brandi (Jesse) Uithoven, Mitchell, SD, Ginger (Robbie) Faas, Fulton, SD; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Dixie (Greg) Schmit, Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws and four brother-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-laws; two sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Audrey's name.
