Audrey Franks, 98, of Alexandria, SD passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Canistota.  Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at St. Martin's Church in Alexandria.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, November16, 2020 at Will Funeral Chapel.

Audrey was born January 16, 1922 in Raymond, SD to Leon William and Emily Rose (Patton) Shoecraft.

She married Orville William Franks in El Paso, TX on February 6, 1943, to this union six daughters were born.  Audrey babysat while in El Paso then began helping Orville farm after they moved to South Dakota, she also worked at Beck's Corner until they moved to Alexandria.  Audrey then worked for Green Thumb at the school and did babysitting.  After retirement she lived in Mitchell for a short time before moving to Salem and then to Good Samaritan in Canistota.

Audrey enjoyed raising her daughters, babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, gardening, playing cards and board games.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters; Judith Eileen Lauritsen, Kathleen K. (Duane) Conzemius, Linda Rae Schmit, Joan (Larry) Clarence, Sandra Dee (Warren) Kluth, a sister; Doris Hasler, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Patricia, grandson, Eric, four sisters, two brothers, and a son-in-law, Paul Schmit.
