Audrey Bauer, 95, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 13, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:30 prayer service on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Will Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sheila Bauer (in care of Will Funeral Chapel) to go towards funeral expenses.

Audrey was born on May 2, 1929 to Marvin and Mary (Hoenscheid) Reif in rural Salem.  She attended school and graduated from St. Mary's High School. Audrey married Rolland Bauer on November 29, 1952 at St. Mary's Church in Salem, SD. The couple worked road and dam construction for ten years. She was employed at the McCook Central School District as a business manager from 1971 until 1996.

Audrey moved to Mitchell in 1997, after Rolland passed away (08/16/1996). She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and participated in prayer and bible groups. She enjoyed needlework, playing pinochle, card and board games as well as making desserts.

Grateful for having shared her life is her son, Brad Bauer, honorary daughter, Sheila Bauer, three grandsons, Tristan Bauer, Tyler (Kelly) Bauer, Tanner Bauer, and two great grandchildren, Norah Bauer and Nicholas Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Dean, and sister Shirley Breidenbach.
