Obituary
Arthur Wipf, age 90 of Mitchell, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Huron.
Arthur M. Wipf was born on April 6, 1920 to Jake and Katherine (Hofer) Wipf in Hitchcock, SD. He graduated from Huron High School and attended 2 years of business college. In November of 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Force. He later worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier for 30 years. He met Sara Ell and was married on April 3, 1976 in Huron. The couple resided in Huron and later in Mitchell. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, and Elks. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Sara of Mitchell, 2 daughters: Carrie Gottsch and husband Lyle of Elkhorn, NE and Janelle Kelley and husband Gary of Hagerstown, MD.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Reginald Wipf, 2 brothers Ernest and Elgin, and a sister Gladys Hofer.
