Arley Kane age 90, of Mitchell, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday, September 27, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service and rosary at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Arley was born on July 1, 1920 in Geddes, SD to Charlie and Emma (Gimbel) Carlson. She graduated from Platte High School and worked for the NYA in Plankinton.
On February 25, 1941 she married Joseph Kane in Platte, SD, to this union three children were born; Regina, David and Pat.
The first year of their marriage was spent in Harris, IA, before moving back to Platte in 1942 and started farming for themselves. Leaving the Platte area and moving to Cavour, SD they farmed in the vicinity of Artesian and Carthage. In 1976 they sold the farm and moved to Mitchell. Arley worked for Sears Catalogue Department and then started a Day Care.
Arley ejoyed needle work, hand crafts, gardening, word puzzles and loved to fish with her husband. Arley also loved to spend time with her family. She was also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Greatful for sharing her life are her children Regina (Dallas) De Nolf of Buena Park, CA and Pat (Dave) Linke of Mitchell, SD; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister Viola Allen of Garden Grove, CA and a daughter-in-law Marcy Kane of Sioux Falls, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, a son David, son-in-law Dallas De Nolf, her parents and two brothers Ernest and Raymond.
