Annabelle Ann L. Barnes, 68, of Mitchell, died August 25, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Graveside services will be held on Monday August 29, at 10:30 AM at the American Legion Cemetery. Ann was born on April 13, 1937, in Davison County to Adolph and Elizabeth (Weber) Kurtenbach. She attended school in Ethan. She married Michael Zobel in July, 1955. She married Robert Barnes on July 6, 1968, at Watertown and they moved to Minneapolis. They were managers of an apartment complex for over twenty years. They moved to Mitchell in 1987 and she was employed at Shopko for ten years. She is survived by five children: Michael Zobel and wife, Kristen, Arlington, SD; Robert Zobel; Elizabeth Flanagan; Mary Lou Ennen and husband, James, Maple Grove, MN; Carman Preheim and husband, Todd, Tea, SD; nine grandchildren; five sisters: Dorothy Otto and husband, Charles, St. Paul, MN; Delores Cross and husband, Frank, Parkston, SD; her twin sister, Isabelle Grohman and husband, Arnold, Mitchell; Shirley Robertson, Mitchell; Cathy Suhr and husband, Arnold, Watertown, SD; two brothers: C. R. Kurtenbach and wife, De, Norfolk, NE; and Edward Kurtenbach and wife, Nancy, Hoyt Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in August, 1996; two daughters, Rose Marie and Patricia Sue and one sister, Carol Jean Kurtenbach.
