Amy Leigh Kost age 21, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Avera Queen of Peace ER. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Mitchell Wesleyan Church with burial at the Menno Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM. Amy Leigh Kost, daughter of Merle and Karen (Hartman) Kost, was born February 10, 1986 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up and received her education in Mitchell, graduating from Mitchell High School in 2005. In July of 2001, Amy entered a group home at Life Quest in Mitchell, SD. She thoroughly enjoyed the staff members and other residence at her home. Amy loved music, food and the outdoors. She had an infectious smile and loved to interact with people. Amy also enjoyed camping and swimming. She continued to make her home at Life Quest until her unexpected death. Grateful for having shared her life are her father, Merle Kost and his wife, Deborah, rural Hudson, SD; her mother, Karen (Hartman) Kost, Mitchell, SD; her grandparents, Walter and Madeline Hartman, Aberdeen, SD, David Kost, Menno, SD; a half sister, Cindy Peterson and her husband, Brian, Mitchell, SD, a step sister Alexa Boyer-Ung and her husband, Chay, Long Beach, CA; a nephew, Matt Peterson, Mitchell, SD; and all of her special friends at Life Quest. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rose Kost.
