Alvin Moldrem, 79, of Mitchell, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Avera Queen of Peace. A graveside service with military rites will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery.

Alvin was born August 23, 1941 in Plankinton, SD to Leon and Hilda (Molde) Moldrem.  He moved to Mitchell when he was in the eighth grade.  In 1958 Alvin joined the National Guard.  In 1961 he became regular Army and served in Germany.  Alvin married Rita Reif on September 5, 1981.

Alvin was a member of the American Legion and the First Lutheran Church.

Alvin is survived by two sisters, Violet Klein, Marion, IA, Lila Sexton, Gold Cannon, AZ, two brothers, Edwin Moldrem, Pasarobbles, CA, James Moldrem, Mitchell, SD, a stepson, John Ridgeway, Mitchell; grandsons Victor (Jenny) Ridgeway, Emery, Mason and Major Ridgeway, Sioux Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rita, and two sisters, Leona Zundel and Irene Robinson
