Alvin M. Hohn, age 87, of Dimock, SD died December 18, 2004 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock with burial at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:30 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel. Alvin was born October 7, 1917 on the family farm in rural Dimock to Hubert and Martha (Humpa) Hohn. He attended school in Dimock and later farmed in the Dimock area. He married Adela Weber on January 10, 1944, at Dimock. They farmed the family farm until 1981 when they semi-retired and moved to Dimock. He continued to help on the farm and sold seed corn. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Adela; three sons: Thomas Hohn and wife, Sharon, Sterling, Virginia; John Hohn and wife, Kathy, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Paul Hohn and wife, Lynne, San Ramon, California; seven grandchildren: Brett Hohn, Sterling, Virginia, John Hohn and wife, Melissa, Kendallville, Indiana, Matt Hohn and wife, Mandy, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Amanda Hohn, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Ryan Hohn, David Hohn and Rachael Hohn all of San Ramon, California; and two great grandchildren, Austin, Mt. Carmel and Kerrick, Kendallville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
