Alton Albert Schuldt, son of Emil and Minnie (Kleinschmidt), was born October 12, 1930 in Stickney, SD. Alton "Cort" was very proud of the Black Angus cattle that he raised on the home ranch West of Stickney, SD. He always kept up his line of "John Deere Green" machinery. On October 12, 1985 he married Hazel Heidinger Groeber in Torrington, WY. The couple continued to live and operate the farm until they retired and moved to Mitchell in 1994. Cort served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 with overseas service in Germany. He enjoyed bowling, cards, and pheasant hunting with family and friends. Cort is survived by his wife's children, Janice and Charles Huff, Wyoming; Verna and Darwin Jones, Rapid City, SD; Vernon and Cathy Groeber, Indiana; Jean and Al Johnson, Rapid City, SD; sisters-in-law, Margaret Schuldt, Mitchell, SD, Leona Schuldt, Mitchell, SD; a brother-in-law, Alton Heidinger, Mitchell, SD; nine grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel on September 10, 2000, his parents, brothers Henry, Marvin, Ivan and LaVerne and one grandson.
