Allie Schryvers, age 97 of Mitchell, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 15, at the First Reformed Church in Mitchell with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM prior to the funeral service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel. Allie Schryvers was born on Monday, September 27, 1914 in Douglas County to John and Johanna (Klein) Muilenburg. She grew up in the Corsica area. On December 30, 1936 she married Ernest Schryvers in Corsica. The couple farmed in both Douglas and Aurora Counties before moving to Mitchell in 1967. She worked at different locations in Mitchell including Wolworth's kitchen. Allie moved into Cathedral Squares after Ernie passed away in 1985. They were members of the First Reformed Church in Mitchell. She is survived by 2 children: Irene Sperlich and John Schryvers (friend Deanna) of Mount Vernon. 2 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great Great-Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, a sister Margaret of Armour, SD and 3 sister-in-laws. Also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernie, a son Marvin who died in infancy, a daughter-in-law Donna and son-in-law Harlan. A grandson LeRoy Sperlich; 2 brothers Pete and Art; and 3 sisters Bertha, Henrietta, and Rena.
