Alice Fern Miiller, age 89, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at First Reformed Church, Mitchell, SD with a 2:00 PM burial at the New Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Alice Fern Miiller, daughter of Simon and Cora (Van Zee) Jongejeugd, was born September 28, 1925 on the family farm in rural Platte, SD. She attended country school in Clark Township. At an early age she made profession of faith in the Christian Reformed Church in New Holland, SD. Alice was united in marriage with Marvin Miiller on September 28, 1965 in Mitchell, SD at First Reformed Church. She worked at Mitchell Methodist Hospital for many years, then Sunshine Grocery Store and Brady Nursing Home. Alice had a daycare in her home for 17 years. Marvin and Alice enjoyed children very much. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Marvin Miiller, Mitchell, SD; a brother, Jack (Irene) Jongejeugd, rural Platte, SD, a sister-in-law, Sally Jongejeugd, rural Platte, SD; an aunt, Janet DeJong, Platte, SD; a brother-in-law, Alan Miiller, Mt. Vernon, SD; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Jongejeugd; a nephew, Chad Jongejeugd; brothers-in-law, LeVern Milller and Earl Miiller; and a two sisters-in-law, Pauline Miiller and Katherine Miiler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church in Mitchell, SD.
