Albert Titze, age 95, of Mitchell, died November 30. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Albert Alfred Titze was born February 20, 1910 in Douglas County to Gottlieb and Anna (Sperlich) Titze. He was baptized in March of 1910 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Dimock, SD, where he was confirmed August 10, 1924 by Pastor Peter Tecklenburg. He lived on a farm until 1933 when he moved to Mitchell and was employed at Western Chevrolet Garage where he worked for 43 years until his retirement in 1976. In his retirement, he worked with Buches Dept. store, church and volunteer work. He married Elsie Triebwasser at Zion Lutheran Church at Delmont, SD. They made their home in Mitchell where he was one of the three men that took the first steps to organize Trinity Lutheran Church. Albert remained very active in the church throughout his life committing his life to the work of the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Elsie of Mitchell; three children: Donna and husband, Howard Fett, Plankinton, SD, Cherie and husband Dennis Hellwig, Aberdeen, SD and James Titze and wife, Linda, of Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and six sisters.
