Adela M. (Weber) Hohn, age 90, of Mitchell, SD (formerly of Dimock, SD) died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock with burial at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Adela Weber, daughter of Peter L. and Anna (Kurtenbach) Weber, was born on April 25, 1922 on the family farm near Parkston, SD. She received her education in Parkston and Dimock Parochial Grade Schools. Adela was united in marriage with Alvin Hohn on January 10, 1944 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock, SD. The couple farmed west of Dimock, raised three sons, retired and moved to Dimock in 1981. The welcome mat was always out and they loved to play cards while visiting their many friends and family. They were both active in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Adela was a member of the Altar Society and taught Religion classes for many years. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting in the winter and gardening and canning during the summer. Adela is survived by three sons, Tom (Sharon) Hohn, Sterling, VA, John (Kathy) Hohn, Mt. Carmel, IL, Paul Hohn, San Ramon, CA; a special friend, Sheri Ellerback; seven grandchildren, John N., Matthew, Ryan, David, Rachel Hohn, Amanda (Hohn) McCoy, and Brett Cayer; seven great grandchildren, Kerrick and Keagan Hohn, Austin, Brianna and Samuel McCoy, Holden and Jonah Cayer; one sister, Mary Ann Puetz; two brothers, Pat Weber and Dale Weber. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin on December 18, 2004; her parents; three brothers, Victor, Willard and Marlyn Weber; two sisters, Lillian Jenks and Donna Puetz; a daughter-in-law, Lynne (Friday) Hohn.
