Adam Michael Aslesen was born June 10, 1988, in Mitchell, SD to Cheryle (Johnson) and Terry Aslesen. He grew up in Mitchell and attended First Lutheran Day Care, LB Williams Elementary, Mitchell Middle School and Mitchell Senior High School. He gave a commencement address to his fellow graduates in May of 2007 entitled "Success nor Failure is Ever Final." He attended college at South Dakota State University and the University of North Texas.

Over the years he had various jobs including Mebius Nursery and 6 years at Logan Theaters. Adam had a passion for sports, both as a participant and as a fan. His favorite teams, other than his own, were the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Cubs and Duke's Basketball. Over the years Adam participated in team Baseball, Softball, Football, Tennis, Soccer, and Wrestling. He also enjoyed an occasional game of golf, pool, basketball or cards, and riding his motorcycle, but his favorites were Wrestling and playing Frisbee golf with his friends. He even tried to teach his parents how to do that. Tried is the key word. He was very active in Student Council and was his class president as both a Sophomore and as a Junior. His Junior year he was the chairman of Homecoming Activities. He also belonged to Excel Club and was active in his church youth group at First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed these groups and the opportunities they provided to help others. He did volunteer work many times for Youth Wrestling, the Love Feast, Special Olympics, selling concessions at the rodeo and amateur baseball tournaments, donated blood and loved helping friends and others whenever he could.

Adam's successes over the years included winning Boys Scouts Derbies, being a Modern Woodman Speaking Champion, Mitchell Mayor for a Day, Boys State Delegate, National Honor Society member, being selected to attend the Governor's Leadership Luncheon, selected nearly 10 times as a Student of the Week at MHS, lettering 4 times in Student Council, 3 times in Soccer and 4 times in Wrestling, winning a State AAU Wrestling Championship, and being a 3 time State Placer in the State Wrestling Tournaments including a 2nd place in 2005 and excellence in academics. His greatest successes were as a person. He was friendly, kind, loved helping others, valued his friends and was an awesome brother and son.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Terry & Cheryle Aslesen, Mitchell, SD; two sisters, Lexi Aslesen, Mitchell, SD, Anne Aslesen and her friend, Jaret Copeman, Farmington Hills, MI; grandparents, Eleanor Hartson, Mitchell, SD, LaVonne Aslesen, Sioux Falls, SD, Alex Audi Sr., Albany, NY; his girlfriend Carly Hiedeman, Watertown, SD; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
